For the first time in its more than 100 years of camping ministry, The Salvation Army has decided to cancel its 2020 summer residential camping program due to COVID-19. Any Salvation Army camps with trailers parks and/or cabin rentals across Canada will also be closed until the local health authority gives official approval to open.
The Salvation Army’s number one priority is the safety and security of our campers, staff, leaders and holiday guests, and it’s in this spirit that the decision was made. We respect and support the tireless work and decisions of our government leaders and public health authorities. The Salvation Army’s decision is in keeping with Canadian government requirements and public health rules and guidelines.
